Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Pakistan's Nawabshah Airport

NEW DELHI -- Local TV channel Times Now reported that an Air India plane en route from Abu Dhabi to Delhi conducted an emergency landing on Monday morning at the Nawabshah airport in Pakistan's Sindh province. According to the report, there were 130 passengers on board when the plane had to land due to a suspected hydraulic system failure. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident. The report added that Air India is dispatching a relief plane along with engineers from Delhi to Nawabshah. According to civil aviation authority spokesman Pervez George, the captain of the Airbus plane notified Pakistani authorities about the problem and requested permission to make an emergency landing. The aircraft landed safely at 3:37 a.m. (local time). According to an Air India spokesperson, the plane was flying over Pakistan air space when the captain noticed a warning light in the cockpit and then asked permission to land at Nawabshah which is the nearest airport.
