New Book Alert: How to Handle a Crisis
Have any of you ever heard of The Pocket Partner? I first came across the best-selling pocket-sized global emergency management reference book for professionals trained in emergency services, corporate security, military, government and counter terrorism while I was working in the back office of a suburban Chicago fire department a few years back. From what I recall, it was being seriously considered for use by our Citizen Corps volunteers. It turns out one of The Pocket Partner?s authors is Dennis Evers of Doomsday Preppers-fame. Furthermore, I?ve learned that the former police chief has also written another book entitled How to Handle a Crisis. From a release that Dennis provided me:
?How to Handle a Crisis? is a new 72 Hour book for individuals, families and businesses that are concerned about personal safety, global threats, soaring crime and the dangers associated with police and emergency personnel layoffs. Loaded with easy to follow protocols for dealing with natural and manmade disasters, terrorism, nuclear, biological, chemical and medical emergencies, automobile accidents, active shooters, crime and other emergencies, there are also chapters on travel, hotel and aircraft safety, mitigating ID theft, sheltering in place, emergency food and water as well as how to prepare for a disaster.
An extensive up-to-date first aid chapter has protocols for all common medical emergencies such as fractures, heart attacks, bites, stings and poisonings, but it also deals with emergencies not normally found in civilian books such as blast injuries, childbirth, influenza, gunshots and knife wounds.
Written by a former police chief and author of a best selling book on protocols for emergency personnel that is used by the secret service, military, and hundreds of thousand of emergency personnel worldwide, ?How to Handle a Crisis? was created for families and individuals that want easy to follow protocols in the event help may not be immediately available.
The book is available at www.howtohandleacrisis.com and at $9.95 is one of the most affordable emergency references available today.
I?ve obtained a copy of How to Handle a Crisis, and once I?m done reading it I will post a review of it on the blog. Sounds promising!
